music listography: list your obscure music discoveries

  • Mike Keneally – guitarist, songwriter, composer, keyboard player, iconoclast.  Inspirational, inspiring, utterly original and doing things on his own terms.  My hero musically.
  • Polytown – Polytown – Three genius virtuosi improvising music that is meditative, contemplative and listenable!
  • Half Man Half Biscuit – Back Again in the DHSS – Satirical British punk from the 1980’s.  Funny and rocking!
  • Magellan – Progressive rock, heavily influenced by Yes and Queen.  Often overwrought with cheesy vocals but very often has moments of grandeur.
  • Chroma Key – Former member of Dream Theater records a CD of ethereal electronica with a progressive rock edge.  Very cool indeed!
  • Delicate Steve – instrumental pop music with an African tinge, creative, chaotic and singable.  Just incredibly fun!
